Twenty-one Primary 5 Higher Mother Tongue students explored the language, culture and heritage of Guangzhou, China, through an enriching overseas learning journey.
Twenty-one Primary 5 Higher Mother Tongue students participated in a 5-day, 4-night Overseas Learning Journey to Guangzhou, China, from 29 March to 2 April 2026.
The programme provided students with meaningful opportunities to learn beyond the classroom, deepening their understanding of the Chinese language and culture while broadening their global perspectives.
A key highlight of the journey was the school exchange with Guangzhou Nansha Experimental Elementary School. Through classroom activities and interactions with their peers, students gained valuable insights into the learning environment in China and forged meaningful connections with fellow students.
Students also visited various cultural and educational sites, including the Guangzhou Urban Planning Exhibition Centre, Guangdong Museum and Yong Qing Fang. They experienced traditional culture through visits to Foshan’s ancestral temple and a lion dance performance, while evening visits to Huacheng Square, Canton Tower and Beijing Pedestrian Road allowed them to appreciate the vibrancy of modern Guangzhou.
Throughout the journey, our students demonstrated curiosity, adaptability and respect as they embraced new experiences and cultures. The learning journey enriched their understanding of the world and strengthened their appreciation of cultural diversity.
