Chinese Language Applied Learning Programme

Students applied their Chinese language skills in authentic real-life contexts through meaningful home-based learning experiences.
At Fuchun Primary School, we believe that language learning is most meaningful when students have opportunities to use the language in authentic and purposeful contexts.
Through our Chinese Language Applied Learning Programme (ALP), students applied their language skills beyond the classroom through engaging real-life tasks.
Our Primary 5 students took on the challenge of preparing a dish for their families while communicating entirely in Chinese throughout the process. From preparing ingredients to serving the completed dish, students practised using Mandarin in a meaningful home environment.

Our Primary 6 students created videos to share how they celebrate Chinese New Year, introducing family traditions, festive customs and memorable experiences in Chinese. Through this project, students expressed themselves confidently while showcasing their understanding of Chinese culture and heritage.

These experiences encouraged students to use Chinese in authentic situations, helping them strengthen their communication skills while making meaningful connections between language, culture and everyday life.
